Thomas "Roskow" Kretschmann, the MPC beatmaking brainchild of Jazzanova was first introduced to the underground music scene through his early breakdancing days in 1983. His interest for the music grew as he discovered mixing and editing with tapedecks using an old Monacor mixer. Roskow later in his youth got more and more fond of rapping which took him to the next step of his musical career, writing.

In 1985, with DJ Derezon, he formed the hip-hop duo Rock Da Most and later the same year released their first EP, "Use the posse". 7 years later they created their own label, Juiceful Records where they generated many new projects; Young Guns, A Real Dope Thing, Spax, to name a few.

Slowly he turned tired of the hip-hop production-dogmas and his search for new music continued. Roskow turned to his long lost love for old jazz, funk and soul and discovered the complexity of genres and the musical world beyond the relm of hip-hop. As a he progressed with his musical digging, he also took the next step in clubbing. His regular visits to the Delicious Doughnuts Club in Berlin acquainted him with the local DJ's Alex Barck, Jürgen von Knoblauch and Claas Brieler. The mixture that these new found friends presented, inspired him to start his own hip-hop fusion project, Kosma. Shortly after his first Kosma release with the Delicious Doughnuts Compilation Vol. 1, he got together with his friends Axel and Stefan and formed the group Extended Spirit to push their productions skills further.

At a later stage, almost by accident, they started producing together with his DJ friends, Alex, Jürgen and Claas. This was where the magic took place...after a short while, the dynamic six established the (today) legendary group, Jazzanova, and not much later, the label, Sonar Kollektiv!

Beneath this masterpiece of collaborations, Roskow added another project to his collection. Forum & Intega with his friend Hellwig produced a great deal of breakbeat and speed garage inspired originals and remixes. But after a few years of working together, they split up.

But music was, like his love for breakdancing, not the only thing in his life. Roskow had a talent for graffiti and in 2005 he put out his first own mixture of boogie, electro, hip-hop, soul, funk, afro, cuban, caribbean inspired clubmusic release under his graffiti alter ego, Sygaire! The first release was made for the Sonar Kollektiv label. Today, Roskow is putting his new energy to the Raw Fusion label with his Sygaire alias. The Barracuda is here to stay!
