Born in Japan, based in Brooklyn, Yellowtail also known as Hiro Awanohara first broke ground with his debut release on Compost Records followed by original and remix releases from labels such as Brownswood Recordings, Irma, Head2Toe, Unique Uncut and NYC's phatest broken beat label, Bagpak Records. Supported and featured by influential DJs and artists such as Gilles Peterson, Domu, Afronaught, Toshio Matsuura (UFO). etc, he has also collaborated with other big names like Eska, Alison Crockett and japanese diva, Monday Michiru.

With upcoming releases on labels such as Co-Op, Amalgama, Fluid Ounce and Bagpak, Yellowtail plans to tighten up his skills and keep pushing his sound on a global scale. First up is a release on our Raw Fusion label with toasting MC Jula Kali. This is the way it should be broken!
